Making Money Online: What You Need To Know

If you've just arrived on this page you're most likely interested in starting an online business, and you've probably got a few questions that you need answered before you jump in feet first. I can relate because I was once in your shoes, and I'm pretty sure I had the same questions you have now.

Question 1: Can I really make money from the Internet?

Answer: The short answer is yes, the long answer is in the next couple of paragraphs:

There's no magic formula to making money online as some would have you to believe. Anyone who says they have 'the secret' to making money online are lying to you, period. All they want to do is sell you an ebook or some kind of wiz-bang system that's 'guaranteed' make you loads of money with little to no work on your part.

Well, it's all a complete load of hogwash. The marketers who are peddling this nonsense don't care about you, they just want your money. The sad thing is many people are deceived into parting with their hard earned money only to discover they've been ripped off.

There is money to made online and loads of it, but it takes work! There's no escaping the fact that you're going have to put in a little effort to make some money online. If you're going to make any money at all, you need to adopt the mindset of a business person.

Anyone who is making money online, and making a lot of it, owns a business. Fortunately owning an online business is not expensive and is relatively easy to get into these days. If you can spare at least $100, you've got enough to make a good start, which leads us to the second question.

Question 2: Do I Need To Invest In My Business?

Answer: Yes. There will always be an investment, of some kind, to be made in your business. This will either be an investment of finances and/or time, usually it's a combination of both.

Question 3: Aren't all online business opportunities just scams?

Answer: No. Fortunately there are legitimate business opportunities available on the Internet today. However, it does take a little due diligence to sift through all the crap that's out there. It just takes a little patience and practice to properly identify a scam.

A general rule of thumb to use to detect a scam is this: If it seems to good to be true, it probably is. For example, if you come across an ad promising that you'll make a guaranteed $1000 in your first week of joining their Bizz-Opp, there's a high probability that you've just found a scam.

These ads look something like this:

1) Work From Home
Make $1000 your
first week, guaranteed!

2) Make Money Fast
Get paid $100 every
day, guaranteed!

I'm sure you've seen ads like this from time to time. Do yourself a favor and avoid such extravagant claims, as if your life depended on it. However, ads that are promoting a legitimate business might look something like this.

3) Work From Home
Create a second income
Full training provided
Free to get started

4) Turn $18 Into A 5 Figure Income

All business opportunity ads will make claims about making money, and that's perfectly normal. But as you might have noticed ads 3 & 4 are much more believable, and are most likely not a scam. I find it a good idea to trust my gut to help me weed out the scams from the legitimate opportunities.

Question 4: How long will it take to make good money?

This question is more difficult to answer because we are all individuals and every business is different. However, a general rule of thumb is to expect to be working on your business for at least three to five years to get to a point where you've built up a significant income.

In my business, for example, it is expected that an affiliate might reach a 50K around twelve months after starting. Some affiliates may achieve this a little sooner (this is rare), and others may take a bit longer. It really is up to each individual as to how much they'll make. As with any business, whether online or brick and mortar, it takes belief, motivation, and consistent action to create a significant income.

Question 5: Can I become wealthy with an online business?

Answer: Yes the potential is there. However, you must realize that it's only 3% of all online business owners that become extravagantly wealthy. Don't let this discourage you because you very well may be the next Internet millionaire. But, like I always tell myself, you've got to work for it.

It's good to have a goal to become wealthy, however, this goal needs to be balanced with bite sized goals along the way. For example, your first goal might be to make $1000 per month within twelve months of starting your business. When you've achieved that goal your next goal might be to double your income over the next twelve months, and so on.

The conclusion of the matter of making money online is this: Anything is possible if you put your mind to it, if you're prepared to work, and you never give up.

In health & prosperity
